I’m going to check back to see what ideas your peeps have for using layer cakes!!! As for those fabrics, I think they are Sweetwater

That’s Moda’s Treehouse Fabric by Sweetwater I think. I visited a quilt shop and bought a fat quarter bundle the other day! I really like the one with directions to build a treehouse!

I recently bought the book Scrap Basket Strips and Squares for 10″, 5″ sqs. and 2.5″ strips by Kim Brackett. Treehouse by Sweetwater-I actually just saw this yesterday, cute!!

Thanks for the opportunity! I had no idea who the designer is, so I’ll copy the comments so far and say Sweetwater!

My church group is working on a layer cake pattern called, Flower Girl (A Moda Bakeshop Project by Lauren Terry – flyawayquilts.com). It looks like your style of quilt too. You can find the pattern on Moda’s site for free. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com

I love the riley blake fabric. I have layer cakes, I just haven’t used them.

That definitely looks like Sweetwater! I love their fabric colors and prints! I don’t usually buy layer cakes so I can’t help you there. In fact, I have a Bee Creative layer cake by Deb Strain that I can’t decide what to do with. I will check the comments to see what everyone comes up with.

oh what pretty fabric. right now it raining cats and dogs here. I see some wonderful construction fabric. No plans for 10 inch squares at the moment. All my sewing stuff is packed away right now. Arggghhh. This really is tough. I can get through this. LOL

For 10 inch squares I like giant half square triangles and maybe a few smaller triangles in the corners for added fun.
the scraps today look like The Treehouse Club Jelly Roll Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics

Is that Sweetwater? I’ve almost bought those precuts about a hundred times in the last month! I just made a quilt top called the Layer Cake Pop, and it was a really fun way to sue 10 inch squares in a different way. Plus it only uses 20 squares so you still have lots to play with!

I ordered a few layer cakes last week, will cut them into 5x5s and add to some charm squares I have. I love a simple patchwork to show off such sweet fabrics. And I never know the designers, but that little hammers is adorable 🙂

I have made the pattern Lazy Sunday (from may chappell) several times and really like the way it turns out. It uses 10 inch squares that you cut into various sizes. I usually mix in some additional fabrics from my stash just for variety. Link to the pattern: http://shop.maychappell.com/product/lazy-sunday-quilt
The prints for the giveaway sure look like the style of Sweetwater.
