Sometimes it comes down to time but even in a crunch I get inspired to try something new. You never know where it will take you and it could be just the break that you need.

excited to see where this quilt leads you. i love the fabrics you pulled. as for me? it depends on life at the time when something new comes up.

How fun for you, Brooke! My first response is a quick panic, then my mind rolls over to ideas and looking for inspiration…with always that feeling of not making the right choices…aack! Once I get going, I’m usually so happy with how the project is turning out that it makes me want to make more! Have fun!

I am a creature of habit, love my old standbys. Love your colors!

Love these colors and fabrics-can’t wait to see what it’s going to be-just love this blog!! I usually panic as well but more often then not will take it on with the attitude of Scarlett and “I’ll deal with that (the worry) tomorrow!” ☺️

Yes, I am trying to learn something new . That is how you get better at your skills.

Embrace it, as long as I have uninterrupted time to think thingso through!

What ever it is, it will be cute!

Trying something new is often a combination of interesting and intimidating, but I usually feel good for having tried it. And sometimes it turns out to be something I really like. Love your scraps, especially the low volume ones on the right side of the photo.

It honestly depends what is it, having a go at something in my own home is less scary than something taking place publicly. I will have a go at sewing things as long as there is something to follow e.g. a pattern or tutorial. x

I like my routine, so trying something new is usually daunting and exhausting….however, I am always amazed at the results (good or bad) and proud that I tried.

LOL, I’ll try anything once, so embracing a new challenge is usually fun as long as it doesn’t involve paper piecing! And those scraps are enticing. I’m saving up a variety of dark greens for a quilt of cacti…

Looking forward to seeing your project evolve. I am pretty fearless if the project is for me. If it is for someone else, I stress a little. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.

I sometimes have a hard time starting a new project because I’m afraid I will mess it up! Those blue and yellow triangle prints are cute!

I am also a creature of habit, I tend to stick to the things I am familiar with. Quilting though has taught me to branch out and try new techniques!!!!! Scary but lovely at the same time. Can not wait to see the finished piece!

I love new opportunities to learn new things. I hope you are enjoying your new learning opportunity. I love the blue triangle fabric in your stash.

I like trying new things, but I usually try them in too big a size. I need to try sample sized projects I think.

  18. Rita Long March 19, 2018 at 7:16 pm #

    I like the challenge.

Well it will be interesting to see where this one is going. I’ll keep watching.

Sometimes when I’m faced with a new technique, I’m paralyzed and have to force myself to jump in. My grandmother had a phrase for that, one she used for the shy grandchildren only (not the bold ones or the ones inclined to get into mischief) and it comes in handy when I’m stuck. She would say, “Do something, even if it’s wrong!”. I repeat that and then make the first, scary cut, knowing that it can’t be too bad, that it’s really only fabric. Once I get started, I’m almost always invigorated and want to keep going long into the night. 🙂

As long as I have a guide to follow, I’m willing to try!
I LOVE the fabric with the kiddos on it….super cute!

Embrace the newsness is my MO. It is fun to challenge myself, my sewing and my brain to think differently. Very Fun!

  23. Lee March 21, 2018 at 5:39 pm #

For me it depends on the challenge, as I am challenged for time it can be frustrating to venture too far out of my comfort zone !

  24. Nicole Sender March 21, 2018 at 5:48 pm #

It is a great thing to accept a challenge! I think that it is important to continually challenge yourself and forge ahead! Nothing ventured; nothing gained!
