little explorers + floating flying geese + giveaway

hello Monday!
so today I finally get to share how I used my floating flying geese

little explorers floating flying geese

you might remember this fun little explorer quilt panel…my idea was to use the floating flying geese as a border…

I actually decided to space out the flying geese…partially due to time constraints….

oh…the more I sewed on this project…the more I fell in love with it…I really love how the floating flying geese and the white fabric frame the panel!

one final step…I added a 2.5 inch border around the outside edge in white…I wanted to make sure the points of my flying geese didn’t get chopped. I was afraid that would happen when I would trim the top after the quilter worked her magic…I will tell you, this was the best decision…as you will see when I share the finish!

and the giveaway for today…

spy something fun??

leave a comment to enter…

I will announce a winner on Friday…

Happy Sewing!

thanks for posting about the floating geese – I made those a time or two but have forgotten about them – they might be right added to a border I am thinking about

WOW this turned out wonderful. It may have been a time constraint thing, but it made it super. I think flying geese all around would have taken away from the map. Now it highlights it. Cant wait to see it when it comes back. Hope you have a fabulous Monday.

Brooke, the floating geese are absolutely perfect for the quilt and the white space around them really works well. They don’t take over the panel, but highlight it. Gorgeous finish.

I adore the asymmetric layout of those flying geese! I need to dig out some of my panels and find one that would benefit from this awesomeness!!
