love project + giveaway

love pillow project
hello Monday!
recently a client shared this photo with me…
asking if I could replicate several of these pillows…the first one being the LOVE pillow
pillow project
so I set out to make an attempt…
drew up a pattern guide and pulled some Kona solids…(thanks Julie!)
love project
I was super happy with the “L”!
love project
but I knew the “O” was going to be the challenge…
here are my attempts…I was trying to use my Quick Curve Ruler so it could be pieced…
love project
this is what I ended up with…not exactly what I had hoped for, but I forged ahead…
love project
I was really happy with this finish…but of course the “O” is still a problem…
and it is too long and not tall enough…
love project
so with the help of the local copy store…
we came up with these letters…
I have an applique idea I am hoping to try this week…
stay tuned…
any ideas on what to do with my test piece??
it measures 14 x 35??
giveaway
and the giveaway for the week…
spy something fun??

Happy Sewing!

Why not do the pillow froM the original photo. If there is no one to gift it to you could donate to a charity raffle. I’m certain it would be ‘love’ed.

Redo the ‘o’ and make a pillow. Your ‘o’ reminds me of a dragons eye, or modern shape.

I (love) the pillow. I think you could piece the new “O”. Use the same idea one uses for making facings on clothing for the inside and outside the “O’. Should lay flat with a narrow seam and lots of clipping around the curves.

You are getting it! You could just make up the test ‘love’ and donate it to a school fundraiser. Happy sewing!

I would use your test piece in a quilt backing. Always nice to find a happy surprise on the back!

You could just make it into a pillow cover or a pillow and put it in your store — the “O” is fine, and I love the use of color. I bet it would be snatched right up. 🙂

Your LOVE is Awesome…agree can change “O” & finish your Pillow…OR if I win…can add to your scrap bundle???? giggle…giggle….

Well, I *LOVE* your test piece! It inspires me, but I’m not so sure of those curved pieces as far as my skills go. Maybe some hand embroidery around the O in the shape of petals or zig-zags might give it a larger appearance, plus a home-spun touch.

I spy some lovely bright green fabric that I’d scoop up in a flash!

I actually like your first attempt, but I understand it being too long for a pillow. Incorporate it into the back of a baby quilt.

I like the test LOVE piece. Use it for a pillow! I spy some pink scraps!
