memory quilt and a giveaway

memory quilt
I was asked to make a quilt using these squares family and friends had given to the bride and groom at their wedding. One challenge is they were cut in each corner to be threaded for a banner….so fortunately when Donna was here, she suggested making fabric magic corners to look like photo corners…great idea!!
memory quilt
We approached this project much like a t-shirt quilt. After prepping the blocks, then we sewed the blocks into rows using two coordinating fabrics to make the blocks in each row the same size.

Next was to add sashing between each row…it is coming…memory quilt
the top is all together! hooray! now off to the quilter…

back from the quilter…love how she quilted it!! I did forget to mention that I put a border on also…
what do you think??
I am working on the binding…

Beautiful quilt, and I’m sure very special for the recipients. My brother and his wife got something similar from her aunts at their wedding, and it’s a treasure. Nice scraps! I like that orange and blue swirly flower one. 🙂
