pattern testing + giveaway

hello Monday!

pattern testing
every once in awhile I jump in to do some pattern testing…
pattern testing
this time I chose to use some of my Posy Garden
pattern testing
the directions talked about making flying geese units a way unfamiliar to me…
and I obviously didn’t get all the directions correct!!
pattern testing
so I re-made them the way I am most familiar…
have you ever done any pattern testing??
like it or rather not??
I am always looking for pattern testers…

giveaway
and the giveaway for the week…
spy something fun??

also, I am pondering giving up one day of blogging….have any thoughts you care to share??

Happy Sewing!

Blogging can be stressful if you let it. I try not to blog because I have to, but because I want to. That is why I don’t keep a schedule.

I’d be happy to try pattern testing if you need someone in the future. As for blogging, just post when you have something to share and feel up to it. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com

I’d like to try pattern testing. I did quite a lot of pattern testing with my embroidery machine, but finally switched to quilt making. Love your fabrics.

Well, I’m a blogger and i know how you’re feeling. It’s a lot of work. i consider giving it up all the time…and the folks who let me know i should keep on are the ones who have no clue what all is involved in continually posting. But the friendships I’ve made and knowing that i’d forever lose that chance of meeting new folks/families is what drives me to keep on. I don’t post as much and i can tell the readers have dropped off. But the son-in-law and new grandson i gained because his mom read my blog and our families met in person has been a blogging success story! Maybe it’ll happen again!

And, no, i’ve not tried pattern testing…i think i’d need to be a better sewer. Always love your giveaways and always am happy when a new post shows up.

Hi, I am only a 10 month old quilter(haha at 45) I have made 22 quilts so far. I have found some patterns easy and others difficult to the point that they are in the UFO box(yes I have one already) I would love to test patterns. Being a New quilter would give you a different prespective.

As for blogging. I an on the fence about doing one as a New quilter. I see the time and energy everyone puts in and that is a lot of added stress in life. I started quilting to rid myself of stress. So, having said that I ask this. Why did yu start the blog? Would reducing a day or two reduce stress and allow you to be more focused on something else that builds you up?

Have a wonderful day, and thank you for blogging I do like your site!

I have once pattern tested, although it was for felt finger puppets and not a quilt design. Pattern testing is important and should be done by sewists at different levels, someone very experienced may understand an instruction but they need to be workable for every level. I have been sewing for a few years now and am completely self taught. I consider myself to be a good beginner still, yet sometimes I read a pattern in a magazine or book, or an online tutorial that is supposed to be easy/beginner friendly and I haven’t a clue what they mean. Although I don’t comment all the time, yours is one of the blogs that I read most weeks. However, you do it for you, and you need to be happy with it yourself. If it would make your life easier and happier then drop a day. x

From a selfish point of view I hope you don’t cut back on your blogging but I appreciate you have to do what is right for you and your family!

Those flying geese are going to be pretty! I’ve never done any pattern testing. When it comes to quilts I like to do my own thing and often change my mind along the way.

Your giveaway fabric is so pretty, as always.

I don’t have a blog but think you should take whatever day(s) off that you need to. I imagine it keeps you very busy and so much of what we do is about balancing things out.

I enjoy reading your blog whenever you post. I consider your blog (and other bloggers’ as well) as a kindness to your readers — sharing ideas, tips, lovely projects, etc. And, in your case, sharing fabric. Whatever schedule works for you works for me. Thanks for all you do!

I’ve never done pattern testing before. I think it would be fun, but I think it would also make me extremely nervous and it didn’t come out the way it was supposed too. I enjoy reading your blog, like many others have said, I think blog writing should be fun and when you want to do it, when you don’t feel as pressured then I think your blogging will flow more? Just my two cents. Thank you for the chance 🙂 Have a great week
