snail trail top

hello Monday!

snail trail

as promised….I said I would be back with more of my snail trail blocks…I decided since these blocks are large and time is marching on, to do four of them for this quilt project….

then I decided as I was laying these out to make one large snail trail…what do you think??

do you like the effect?

this quilt is a baby quilt for parents who are having a surprise…and I want the quilt to be there when the baby arrives, so I did a mix of blue and pink…

now one down side of these blocks is since they are so large – finishing at about 16 inches – there is some big bias edges….so stretch…to minimize that and make it just a bit larger, I put this border on it…of course I was a tad short…adds to the personality….

the next big decision is how to quilt it??

I must say that I really like it – a lot!!!

Happy Sewing!

I love it! These blocks remind me of elephant trunks reaching out to touch the next one.

It came out really nicely. Really like that pattern and the large size makes it more manageable. A perfect baby gift.
