starting over….

So last week I came to you with a predicament….

Some of you will be surprised…others won’t, but I decided to start over….so I clipped and removed all the ever so cute candy cane stitching….

So back to my original idea…using a deep green floss….working very nicely….

At the end of yesterday, here is my progress….I am happy with the change…what do you think??  So another question – have you ever used fusible batting??  I have a couple of projects I want to do that call for it.  I have not used it.  Do you like it or not??  I would love to hear your thoughts….

Oh and just to tempt you a bit more….I have this and about 8 other fabric bundles in my Destash Fabric section on etsy….shhhh – here is a secret – use coupon code DESTASH for another 10% plus FREE SHIPPING!  Happy Sewing!

Oh dear, yes, that is very tempting. I see someone got to the Sew Stitchy…which is good for me, but then again, you keep adding more. =)

I like what you decided to do with your stitchery…sometimes fixing things really makes a difference.

    Have a great Wednesday!

I like the green, the candy cane is cute but the green is cleaner. I have used fusible bat, it works well on bags and things that you want a bit more body. How you iron it…heat, pressure etc. affects your final result. If it is the first time using it I would play with a small piece first. I do like the stuff it works well…I have never used it on a quilt though.

Looks good. Sorry the other did not work out.

I have used fusible fleece, but not fusible batting. I’ll be interested to hear how it goes.

Next time if you want the candy cane effect, stitch it in red; then wrap the stitching in white floss. Fusible batting works OK if you follow directions, but does add a crinkle look to cotton. Try it on a small square of scrap first to see if it will do. If it is for a purse, you could just baste regular batting with basting spray instead (no crinkles with this). Good luck.

Ohhh I thought you meant fusible fleece. I have never used fusible batting. I think you could just use regular batting then….sorry I was confused =P
