Those prints match the shirt perfectly!! Don’t know the designer of the fabric squares.

Oh, that t-shirt is too cute! I love the fabrics you have pulled. Maybe a flying geese border? Oh, and the fabric designers are Simple Simon.

I think a little flange-type border of the green and then a thicker border of the smaller pink floral that is beneath and below it. I initially thought of the scattered bouquets on the right because I love how the tossed florals mimic the woman’s curlers, but it would bother me that the background is cream and the shirt seems much more white. Maybe that is just me.

I don’t know the name of the designer but I think those tiny stars on black and the little umbrellas are darned cute.

Love the idea of a pillow. Those prints look good with the shirt. Don’t know the designer but love the black, white and gold.

I really like the idea of making a t-shirt pillow. I have a special t-shirt that my mother gave me before she died, that I have never worn. This would be a great way to honor it. I don’t know the designer of the fabric, but it is beautiful.

As a retired hairdresser I LOVE the shirt. What a wonderful thing to do with it! I like all the colors you picked out. Sorry I do not know the name of the line either but I do like them very much. The black and white clouds most of all. Makes me think of the poor ones in the south.

Those prints look great with the shirt. Cute saying on the shirt. I don’t know the designer, but the fabrics are lovely.

  8. Lori Smanski September 13, 2017 at 9:12 am #

these would be perfect for a border. Not sure would use the fabric on the far right though. its print is so much bigger than the rest, to me sort of makes it out of place. But lovely choices. Hmm for the border maybe simple squares and quilt in circles like the curlers?

Cute T-shirt! A patchwork squares border might be cool. I think those fabrics you picked will be great! Unsure of squares designer, I’ve seen that fabric line somewhere though. Have a great day!!

  10. Kay September 13, 2017 at 9:38 am #

I like simple things and would just go for a border of squares, I especially like the pink tartan and the solid green. x

I don’t know the designer but I know I’ve seen some of those prints somewhere. Now, it’s going to drive me crazy!

Is this fabric When Skies Are Grey by Riley Blake?

  13. Michele T September 13, 2017 at 10:53 am #

Cute tshirt Quilt idea… I like things simple so strip borders or checkerboard would be my suggestion.

  14. Lisa Marie September 13, 2017 at 10:56 am #

Oh those prints are perfect with the colors in the shirt! I think I would make a flying geese border with the prints as the geese and the background a white to blend with the shirt so the geese appear to float.

When Skies Are Grey by Simple Simon for Riley Blake Designs is that adorable little bit of matching / coordinating fabrics. Umbrellas to die for 🙂 I like the idea of a nice solid narrow strip peeking out of the border of your pillow. Preferably the solid turquoise like color~ Good luck with your project!

That shirt will be a fun pillow!!
Yes, pinks and greens are good color choices…
I think simple would be the best, to let the shirt get the attention.
I think that the pink plaid and the “reads-as-solid” green are the fabrics to use… And I think I’d go with just a simple sashing frame for the pillow front… (like you do with your t-shirt quilt blocks)
I would then use a few of the fabrics for a pretty pieced back (I’d use some more of that pink plaid, the “reads-as-solid” green, the green print at center bottom and the pink print to the left of it)
Looking forward to what *You* decide to do, Brooke!

Love your fabric selection! I like the darker prints with it!! It is going to be a cute pillow! I would keep the border simple!

  18. Patty September 13, 2017 at 3:07 pm #

I like the idea of the darker greens for a border to pop the light color of the tee shirt. It is so cute! I’m sure whatever you do will look amazing though!

Love those B&W fabrics. Don’t know the designer or line. The fabrics you have auditioned with the t-shirt are all wonderful. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do.

The fabric for the border is great – I would do scrappy! mix it up! I love the giveaway fabrics w/ the clouds and rain drops – Simple Simon for Riley Blake? When skies are grey….

Cute saying on the shirt, made me laugh. I always love a simple patchwork. I think a row of squares around the outside, just enough to stablize and enhance, not over power the design since its light. (PS I saw my surgeon today, He said my spine healed perfectly. I don’t have to wear the neck brace anymore and can sleep in my bed!)

  22. Sandie Cornish September 13, 2017 at 7:23 pm #

Your fabric choice for the pillow is lovely – I would do a border with 2 1/2″ by 1 1/2″ strips with squares in the corners. Love the giveaway squares – “Simple Simon and Company for Riley Blake – When skies are grey”

  23. Nicole Sender September 14, 2017 at 1:54 am #

My guess, When Skies are Grey 10″ Stackers by Simple Simon & Company for Riley Blake. Soon the umbrellas will be needed. The rainy season is on its way.

    Please, count me in too!

  26. Jacob September 14, 2017 at 8:20 am #

I like what you picked for the border, I didn’t even think about a border. What size is the finished pillow going to be?

I don’t recognize the fabric, but it seems familiar to me for some reason

  27. asteride September 14, 2017 at 8:26 am #

No idea about the fabric but is really cute!

  28. Lulu September 14, 2017 at 1:46 pm #

I wanted to make a quilt with some cute t-shirts that nobody uses any more. I could see a border made with half triangles blocks.

  29. Karen Mc September 14, 2017 at 6:10 pm #

I like the fabric with pink background with the wider spaces flowers. Thanks for the chance to win.
