t-shirt quilt progress + giveaway

hello Monday!

new t-shirt quilt
so…awhile back I shared about this new t-shirt quilt project

t-shirt quilt progress
if you remember, my nephew divided his t-shirts into themes…
so I came up with the idea that each theme should have a different color border…
I think these colors look yummy together…

so here is one of the themes…
I like to leave about an inch around the outside of the t-shirts…
I also use fusible interfacing to stabilize the designs…

The t-shirt quilt should be very interesting when done. I made one a few years ago and used iron on interfacing to back them so they didn’t stretch. Love the coral fabric. Would go great in a project I have going right now.

The quilt is coming along beautifully. I have been saving my son’s t-shirts. Looks like the quilts with tees are fun to make!

I really like the way you are approaching this t-shirt quilt. I am very interested because I was asked to make one for my niece. I have never made a t-shirt quilt so this is a perfect project for me to follow along with. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.

Great idea to group the shirts so the quilt doesn’t look all jumbled up. As for the scraps — lots of dots, that’s always fun!

Your nephew is a lucky guy to have you making him a tshirt quilt. My 5 boys would each love me to do that if only I could finish all the other projects and quilts that i’ve started for them! I can’t wait to see how it looks. I think so many tshirt quilts look disorganized to me. I’m sure their comfy and loved no matter what, but I crave a little more order for so many different slogans and such. I love scraps…i live for scraps and by the way, dots are kind of my obsession!
