hello Friday!

One of today’s projects… A matching #upparasol pillow cover @heatherbailey love this line! Happy Monday!
a few weeks ago…I received a custom request to make matching Up Parasol pillow covers…

I had made one for the Intrepid Thread’s newsletter…

I began by cutting a fun shape…

I placed it on a piece of batting about 18 inches square and pulled coordinating prints from Up Parasol and Lottie Da by Heather Bailey
using my walking foot, I sewed close to the edge of the bird print
I cut 3 inch strips from the coordinating pieces

laying in a pleasing order, I sewed right sides together in a quilt as you go method

once my piece was large enough, I trimmed it to a 12 inch square
for the back, I sewed a unit using 2.5 inch and 3 inch strips and then placed on batting and did some curvy quilting

I added a zipper to the bottom…

and ta dah – two matching Up Parasol pillow covers!!
hooray!
since this is a finish…I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and Confessions of a Fabric Addict

the winner of this week’s fabric scrap giveaway is…

I am emailing you!
