today’s fun tutorial is for making this tablerunner…
you will need six fat quarters or yardage…one print for the binding, one print for the background
a small piece of batting and some backing fabric
festive forest
I cut two 3.5 x 4.5 rectangles from each of the four prints
I cut a 3.5 inch WOF strip from the background print and then sub-cut into rectangles 2 inches, 3 inches and 4 inches
I used five 3.5 x 4 inch rectangles, five 3.5 x 2 inch rectangles and six 3.5 x 3 inches of the background
festive forest
I arranged the print rectangles in a staggered setting achieved with the different size background rectangles
sew background rectangles to each side of the print rectangle
each row finishes at 9.5 x 3.5
festive forest
I pressed the background toward the print rectangle and then pressed the seam open when joining the rows together
festive forest
here is my finished top
the next step is to layer runner top, batting and backing together to begin quilting
festive forest
quilt as desired and trim
I did narrow curvy lines using my walking foot
festive forest
sew two 2.5 inch binding strips into one long piece to bind the runner
sew binding onto runner and either machine or hand-sew it to the back
festive forest
your finished runner is about 9.5 x 25 inches and ready to use!
this runner is currently available in my etsy shop

Love it, and cool tutorial, too! I have some fabrics I really don’t want to cut in small pieces, and this pattern would be a perfect way to showcase them. Thanks!
