vintage picnic + giveaway

hello Monday!
it is Spring Break time at our house…
we are looking forward to a visit from Gramma!
vintage picnic
so…remember this post about my Vintage Picnic jelly roll??
vintage picnic
I have been sewing my Vintage Picnic strips to the Bella solid strips…
*tip* I like to cut the jelly roll strips in half…so I am only sewing strips that are about 22 inches rather than the full width…mine tend to curve when I do that…
creative grid ruler
I broke out my new Creative Grid ruler…
I will admit that I started cutting with this layout, but since I don’t like to waste much, I ended up flipping my strip unit to get the most triangles out of my unit…
vintage picnic
so I have a pile of triangles that look like this…
vintage picnic
and a pile that looks like this…
so now I need to sew up more strip units!

giveaway
and the giveaway for the week…
spy something fun??

Happy Sewing!

Question for you: Where is the best place to buy rulers? Some of the shops I have checked are so expensive and I am just starting, so I don’t have many. I have some squares and rectangles, but I am hoping to get some triangle rulers soon too. Thanks!
